Texas Board of Nursing Releases New Scope of Practice Decision-Making Model (DMM)

A new resource is available to assist nurses with scope of practice questions. The new Scope of Practice Decision Making-Model (DMM) was released at the April 2019 quarterly Board meeting and has replaced the former Six-Step Decision-Making Model.
The DMM guides nurses through a series of questions and offers updated resources to assist nurses with scope of practice questions. The new DMM is now embedded in the RN and LVN Scope of Practice webpages. To view the DMM, visit the Board’s website at www.bon.texas.gov, go to the Practice tab and open either the Scope-Vocational Nurse Practice or the Scope-Registered Nurse Practice pages.
